Procurement Manager - Energy

Summary of Role :
In this key role you will be vital to supporting the Head of Procurement with project delivery

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Identifying & providing procurement support services to the Head of Procurement.
  • Development of a procurement strategy for projects.
  • Preparation of BOM for bid proposals for construction & engineering work
  • Contractor pre-qualification, tendering, negotiation & administration.
  • Organise construction schedules for each project
  • Contract preparation & negotiation.
  • Support during due diligence & financial close & construction phase.
  • Cost estimating, budget preparation, reporting & control for input in budgets & mgt. reports.
  • Liaising with external parties for procurement of engineers, contractors, government bodies, system operators etc.
  • Interaction with relevant in-house stakeholders & participate in sharing company knowledge
  • Management of revision & quality of procurement documents (drawings, specification, std, etc.)
  • Undertake due diligence on project acquisitions in new markets & procurement cost database.
  • Use good procurement practice ensuring competitive costings.


Education & Experience

  • Degree in Eng., Energy, Business & ideally utilities, renewables, telcos & engineering experience
  • Strong contract mgt. & understanding of contracting methodologies.
  • Good project mgt. skill set required including contract mgt., administration, scheduling, planning, financial control & mgt..
  • Excellent written & oral communications skills. & can manage internal & external resources.
  • Strong negotiation skills, good presentation skills to levels.
  • Ability to use Microsoft & ideally AutoCAD, MS Project & SharePoint.
  • Fluency in English; fluency in other languages considered an advantage.
  • Accountability for overall project leadership through relationship with your contractors & consultants
  • Be prepared to do some travel ex Dublin as needed
