Assistant Project Mgr - Decarbonised Heat & Bioenergy

A key role where you will work with a Bio fuels energy team to develop evidence & inform policy makers helping Ireland meet its 2030 targets via the use of sustainable, decarbonised heat sources such as Bioenergy, & Biomethane.

You will advise users on biomass fuel & support research by evaluating proposals to develop decarbonised systems or bioenergy systems. You will enjoy wide stakeholder engagement, making presentations at a senior level, & creating valuable public information...help Ireland meet its renewable heating targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support projects in the decarbonised Heat & Bioenergy team.
  • Support devt. of the Biomass Fuel Sustainability Certification Verification process.
  • Aid in the Renewable Heat Obligation analysis.
  • Contribute to support the Fossil Fuel Phase-Out roadmap.
  • Assist with the District Heating Roadmap
  • Key Knowledge & Skills
  • Bioenergy Systems Related Analysis
  • Perform comprehensive analysis on the sustainability of bioenergy supply chains to guide the creation of sustainability benchmarks for govt. initiatives.
  • Undertake thorough research on both local & imported bioenergy resources, evaluating supply chain efficacy & the effects of new international & EU policies on resource availability & cost.
  • Provide strategic advice on viable business models for bioenergy ventures, considering regulatory approval processes.
  • Offer analytical support to advance renewable gas technologies, employing tools such as geospatial analysis.
  • decarbonised Heat Related Reporting/Analysis
  • Assess the feasibility of district heating DH systems in Ireland & develop strategies and evaluate heat demand & identify DH prospects.
  • Provide guidance on new EU regulations related to co-generation & combined heat & power (CHP).
  • Contribute to the policy analysis for decarbonised heat strategies, technologies, & support in line with relevant EU, national laws, & tech support areas inc Bioenergy, Heat pumps, Solar, carbon capture, Geothermal, District Heating, & Hydrogen & support analysis of emerging tech on geospatial analysis

Essential Requirements

  • Love researching & providing strategic advice to decision-makers.
  • Have a degree in Environmental. Science, Eng, or similar
  • Bring 3 years’ work exp renewable energy/heat & bioenergy etc.
  • Exp of decarbonised energy projects reporting on building etc.
  • Experience managing projects
  • Communication - articulating complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Team leadership
  • Managing & Analysis of information
  • Work to tight deadlines & have great attention to detail.
  • IT Skills : MS Office & presentation creation.
