Senior Accountant - ESG

Join the Finance team of a Global Leader in Insurance as a Senior Accountant specialising in ESG Reporting. With a focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance ESG factors, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring transparent and accurate reporting across the organisation. This position would suit a Qualified Accountant with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience, coupled with insurance industry knowledge and a track record of implementing change in business processes. You'll spearhead the implementation and delivery of Group and Regulatory reporting mandated under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various teams to design and maintain robust controls over data collection and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with Group requirements.
  • Validate sources and establish data collection processes to maintain accuracy and integrity of sustainability data.
  • Lead the Financial Reporting implementation of ESG disclosures for Group, Statutory, and Regulatory reporting.
  • Produce annual and quarterly reports for ESG, meeting quantitative and qualitative requirements.
  • Ensure ESG disclosures and submissions are timely and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor emerging ESG reporting developments and implement necessary plans to address them.
  • Provide technical advice and training on ESG reporting to support the wider Finance team and other business areas.
  • Support the annual assurance process over ESG reporting by maintaining well-documented audit trails and supporting papers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified accountant with at least 4 years PQE. Assurance experience is advantageous.
  • Strong technical and industry knowledge, with an understanding of ESG reporting regulations and requirements. Extensive experience in similar regulatory reporting fields is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and communications.
  • Proven track record of implementing changes to business processes, technologies, and systems.
  • Experience working in project teams and leading change programs of work.
  • Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
