Procurement Specialist - with Air freight Logistics Expertise

In this key role you will support the operations of a global Logistics team by ensuring relevant structures & arrangements are in place with transportation providers to deliver an efficient & cost-effective service.

Responsibilities in the Role will include:

  • Run or support tenders from Regional Hubs in (Germany, USA, India & Canada) & from 50 Sales Centres worldwide
  • Plan & develop tender documents including clarification of legal & business requirements & issues
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements to develop comprehensive tender RFQs
  • Execute tender with electronic tendering tools
  • Manage the evaluation process to agreed timeframes & internal deadlines
  • Calculate & benchmark transportation costs in tender & for spot requests
  • Given the RFP results, prepares recommendations for Steering Team decision-making
  • Communication with Logistics Service Providers
  • Regular monitoring of tender success & analysis of success factors
  • Handover & close cooperation to Implementation Team & other stakeholders
  • Support the team in ensuring agreed elements of contracts are adhered to & delivered by the Logistics Service Provicers (LSPs)

Experience & Skills

  • Degree with a focus on logistics & or strong exp in logistics tender management especially in CEP –(Courier, Express and Parcel) companies volume too
  • Experience buying logistics service – air & ocean services
  • A high degree of self-direction, initiative, & commitment
  • Solution oriented with proven experience solving problems & implementing efficiencies
  • Experienced in tender documents development
  • Good knowledge of electronic tender tools, Excel, MS Word & Power Point
  • Experienced in negotiation management
  • Fluent spoken & written knowledge of English, additional language like German & Chinese are an advantage
  • Ability to undertake regular business travel to Germany & Switzerland
