Employee Relations Specialist (15‑Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Sanderson is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join a high‑performing People team on a 15‑month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, relationship‑focused HR environment and enjoys supporting managers, employees, and union partners across a wide range of ER matters.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing expert advice to people leaders on policies, employment legislation, and best practice ER approaches.
  • Responding to ER queries and managing cases in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Supporting and attending union meetings and ensuring agreed actions are completed.
  • Developing and managing investigation plans and identifying training needs to strengthen ER capability.
  • Assisting in the creation of performance support plans.
  • Conducting investigations into grievances, complaints, ethics concerns, discrimination, harassment, and related issues.
  • Monitoring ER trends and market practices to support continuous improvement.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with employees to enhance engagement.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years' Employee Relations experience.
  • CIPD qualification, Employment Law qualification, or an ER‑related certification.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and external ER mechanisms.
  • Experience managing union relationships within a large or complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and workload‑prioritisation skills.
