Maintenance Technician

Int this important role you will deliver a high-quality maintenance service to production & to the site wide facility and report into the Maintenance Coordinator/Manager.

Key Responsibilities - you will: -

  • Provide maintenance support to the production facility
  • Carry out wiring installation & commissioning of plant / equipment & trouble shooting on plant & equipment
  • Perform scheduled & unplanned maintenance of plant equipment
  • Carry out facility checks which includes meter readings, reports & resolving discrepancies within
  • Electrical & Mechanical troubleshooting & electro-mechanical repairs to a PLC controlled plant
  • Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment & installations & modifications
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximising uptime of machinery
  • Minimise downtime in production & utility areas
  • Manage on site contractors including permits & induction
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as appropriate (e.g.) projects, Lean etc
  • Troubleshoot using PLC Programs/wiring diagrams etc
  • Adheres to all site policies on quality & safety, clean uniforms & boots, hair nets, hearing protection etc
  • Technical support for all the plant facilities & services, including compressed air & refrigeration
  • Fully support the maintenance, shift cover, phone support & callout
  • Carry out maintenance work orders & requests in a timely & safe manner while maintaining adherence to GMP
  • Assist the health & safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machines & ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team

The Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience you will bring: -

  • A 3rd level qualification in Engineering or be a time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/Mechanical Qualification/ Mechanical Experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance role, planned & reactive maintenance skills
  • Exp in a similar maintenance role within an FMCG industrial plant (food production environment)
  • Exp of machine control diagnostics would be beneficial to your application, as would strong industrial mechanical service & repair skills

Maintenance Technician

  • Identify & execute machine / line improvement projects
  • Have experience of a wide range of Electrical Control Systems, temperature, & PLC/PC Controlled Systems
  • Instrumentation & programming
  • Excellent awareness & experience in relation to Quality, Health, & Safety
  • Computer skills & basic usage of Excel inputting
  • Qualified Electrician - Have a recognised apprenticeship in the electrical, electronic or machine control diagnostics field
  • Can work on own initiative & as part of a team
  • Can work under pressure & to deadlines
  • Should have good verbal & written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a logical approach to problem solving
  • A 'can do' attitude
  • You will not need any sort of sponsorship to work in Ireland and have a driving licence and access to a car.
