Public Sector Procurement Specialist - IT/ICT

In this role you will be a key member of the Procurement team - with experience of public sector procurement and of Information Technology

Your responsibilities : -

  • Be responsible for successful tendering & contract management
  • Tendering IT/ICT Technology projects in line with EU Directives, Procurement Policies & Procedures
  • Achieving value for money through tendering
  • Develop & Lead on sustainability through tendering
  • Investment appraisal - to realise benefits
  • Run manage mini-tender competitions
  • Be able to justify decisions made & actions taken, in particular with any legal challenge
  • Manage IT projects & contracts
  • Negotiate Contract Negotiations with legacy IT systems
  • Create & manage SOPs with end users to ensure compliance with the contract terms
  • Run compliance reports & KPIs
  • Comply with the Public Spending Code
  • Lead on weekly/monthly meetings with business partners
  • Track actual spends & highlight variance in budget & actual spend

You will : -

  • Have a qualification in Public Procurement with 3 years' experience in Public Procurement.
  • Have experience in the various tendering procedures, such as Frameworks, Qualification systems, Dynamic Purchasing Systems, Competitive Dialogue & the Negotiated procedure.
  • Know procurement processes & decisions & getting Value for Money.
  • Have excellent communication skills, an ability to liaise, influence, negotiate, challenge effectively & build relationships at various levels & with suppliers.
  • Be creative & innovative approach towards developing solutions to improve standards of service or reduce costs
  • Bring excellent planning & organisational skills.
  • Bring experience in working with multi-disciplinary team members & stakeholders to ensure high performance & achieving objectives
  • Bring strong IT skills in the MS Office suite
