Programme Executive - Finance

Sanderson is proud to partner with a leading semi-state organisation to recruit a Programme Executive - Finance on a one year contract, hybrid working in the Dublin City Centre office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic Core Finance Team within the Corporate Services Directorate, which plays a central role in the governance and operational excellence of the organisation.

The Core Finance Team is responsible for critical financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, internal reporting, statutory accounts, and payment oversight. As Programme Executive - Finance, you will contribute to the development of new financial review processes to support emerging programme streams. You will deliver insightful financial analysis, enhance cash and grant management processes, and support robust governance and compliance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily compliance checks on grants and payments.
  • Report on compliance outcomes and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and strengthen financial controls and governance frameworks.
  • Maintain and update financial policies and procedures.
  • Support the enhancement and management of the organisation's finance system.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and the preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Contribute to monthly management reporting and analysis of key expenditure.
  • Drive improvements in internal workflows and cross-functional processes.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Accountant and wider Corporate Services teams as needed.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 8 qualification honours degree or higher in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in an accounts function; OR
  • Level 7 qualification ordinary degree with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems and system integration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls and governance best practices.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with the Integra-Centros finance system.
  • Background in the public sector or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Membership of a recognised accountancy body e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA.
  • Interest or knowledge in Ireland's sustainable energy sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and change management.
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service.
