On Wednesday 20th May RSG, in partnership with Sanderson, hosted their first round table on Business Change in Scotland at the prestigious Balmoral Hotel.

Digital Transformation; is this evolution, revolution or business as usual?

To discuss the digital transformation, Martin Boyle, Divisional Director of Business Transformation at Nationwide Building Society, lead our change forum dinner. Martin is responsible for delivering an ambitious 5 year transformational change at Nationwide.

With 12 high level representatives across the industry; including LBG, Sainsbury's Bank, RBS and Nationwide, the round table offered an interactive platform for discussion and came to some fascinating conclusions.

Martin focussed on:

  • What is digital and, more importantly, what is not?
  • Does digital change require a different perspective?
  • The importance of cultural change.
  • The availability of digital skills internally and within the wider marketplace.
  • The relationship between technology and business.
  • The role of small, niche technology and marketing suppliers who traditionally find it difficult to secure work with large clients.
